FCI Standard The English bulldog is a powerful thickset dog of athletic built standing on short solid feet, very jumpy, intrepid, obstinate and willful, it is on EXCELLENT terms with KIDS, an OUTSTANDING GUARD DOG. The EARS are low, heavy, big, half-straight, rose from inside. The ears are not cut short.
The BUILT is athletic. The built in accordance with the international standard is characterized by the following features: compact, somewhat extended (oblong) powerful and balanced body; the chest needs to be deep and ribs to be flexible to hold large lungs. The short shoulder is not allowed since it interferes with a necessary lift of the front paw. Very muscular, clearly delineated hind legs emphasize the impression of the dog’s constant readiness to jump.
The BODY COLOR is uniform of the same taint or striped, parti-color, foxy and white, piebald and spotty. It is desirable for the dog to wear a “mask” or a "muzzle" especially for those with uniform hair color. The hair is short, flat, hard and glossy.
