Change Of Coat The English bulldogs change their coat twice per year: in spring and in autumn. The spring molting is usually longer. It provides the dog with protection from the summer heat and a new coat. At summer time the dog is left mostly with the top hair; the undercoat falls off. In winter the picture is reversed; the dog grows a thick undercoat. During molting period the dog should be combed more frequently, otherwise it will start scratching itself and may harm its skin. This can lead to eczema. The molting usually takes 7 weeks; over this period of time you can bath it several times. Along with bathing brush and comb it daily.
